In collaboration with each new client Schweitzer’s team create fluid apartment spaces that marry clean lines with multi-layered texture. Textiles, finishes and lighting are integrated to impart depth. Schweitzer specializes in both modern and prewar apartments giving both a fresh vibe and sophistication. Furnishing selections from NY and Paris flea markets are also woven into the design. VSA obtains Landmarks commission approval in New York City and works with all types of budgets. A cook’s kitchen above for a family with teenagers anchors the entire apartment. A structural wall becomes a structural beam, and coffers are used to make it look seamless. The ample island of natural quartzite was designed for cooking but allows for kids’ homework.
